Hurray! They got printed and are sanded with a white wash over them. This is a commissioned item and it is life sized.
I have the dango shields and hair pins as well as a second brooch in the works for the cosplay. kaleidoscope wand and compact. Keep an eye for the finished versions!
The rod is a dowel to keep expenses down, the rest is plastic painted with acrylic. The items are made via 3D printing. I make digital 3D models then upload them to a site that has 3D printers, They print and ship back to me where I sand, glue, paint and do any necessary detailing. The customer is involved on every step to make sure the item is just the way they want. Things can get expensive, but it is well worth it. Printing materials is priced on volume, so costs add up fast.
The great thing about 3D printing is perfect symmetry, and exact detail that is hard to get when hand modeling.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to make my own accessories without having to buy it from other people. This is a great idea to get it how I want it! Thanks for sharing how you got it.
