Origami Stars: Horn of Plenty by silverbeam Origami Stars: Horn of Plenty by silverbeam
Hurray for stars! I have been selling these on my etsy ([link]) and on a site called top hatter. I've made thousands of stars over the past ten years, and I have grown to love stars of all media, format, color and size. Right now I am collecting star beads as well. Fun to make jewelry with them.

only for personal purposes like your desktop, you may not use it in a website, online, or anything that has numerical value.

Aren't these made by taking a strip of paper and rapping it around itself, then shaping the corners?

yeah, pretty much, you tie a knot in one end which flattened makes a pentgon shape, then wrap, tuck in the end then pinch to pop it out.
